The mission of the Future Cities Catapult is to advance urban innovation, to grow UK companies, to make cities better. We bring together businesses, universities, city leaders and citizens so that they can solve the problems that cities face.
Our home base is the Urban Innovation Centre in Clerkenwell, in the middle of London, which provides world-class facilities and expertise to support the development of new products and services, as well as opportunities to collaborate with others, test ideas and develop business models.
The Cities Lab, which I lead, specialises in urban strategies, connected cities and urban data science. Our global team (last time we counted, we had people from 23 countries) consist of data scientists, architects, designers, ethnographers, sustainability experts, urban planners, economists, researchers, developers, social scientists, market analysts, user researchers, film makers, visual designers, etc.
We are doers – we make innovation happen in cities.
